Holger Koehler

Holger Koehler is a leader in Monitor Innovation, a part of the Monitor Group Company. He has 14 years of strategy and innovation consulting experience. Prior to joining Monitor, Holger was employed with consultants Arthur D. Little and Bain & Company.  In addition, he has worked with a number of start-up businesses.

Holger has advised companies of all sizes, industries, and stages of maturity – from small start-ups to large multinationals – on issues of growth and innovation. He has helped clients create and launch entire new businesses, develop actionable growth and innovation strategies, create and test breakthrough innovation concepts, develop technology strategies that are aligned with business strategies, and assess risks associated with innovation and new technology. He has worked with clients in the automotive, transportation, consumer products, industrial goods, telecommunications, oil & gas, healthcare, and financial services industries. He is a lead developer of Monitor Innovation’s innovation strategy, front-end innovation and risk assessment frameworks, as well as, the Idea Development Excellence (IdeX) methodology.

Holger has authored a number of articles and papers on the topic of innovation in publications such as Harvard Business School’s Balanced Scorecard Report and the Handbook of Business Strategy. He holds undergraduate and master degrees in economics and business administration from the University of Regensburg, Germany. He speaks fluent German and English.
