Gustavo Zevallos

Gustavo Zevallos is a Partner of The Monitor Group Company and leader of the Monitor Innovation Practice in Latin America.  Prior to joining Monitor, Gustavo worked for Sharp in Brazil and for Whirlpool in the USA in Marketing, Finance and Strategic Planning. He has worked for companies in different industries, such as chemical, mining, energy, and consumer goods in projects of strategy, organizational design, marketing and innovation, among others.

Gustavo’s recent innovation projects have included: Evaluation of Technology & Innovation management  done by companies and comparison to best practices (Diagnostic); definition of innovation strategies and themes around which to innovate (platforms); identification of key innovative projects to be implemented, development of business plans and help during their implementation; definition of  metrics, organizational structures and processes to improve innovation management; evaluation of investment alternatives based on new technological threats; analysis of Brazilian conditions as a R&D center location; design of  Intellectual Property Strategy; and definition of organizational structure and prioritization of research topics for Research Centers.

Gustavo has been a speaker in several conferences in Brazil such as ANPEI (National Association of Research, Development and Engineering of Innovative companies), ABVCAP (Brazilian Association of Venture Capital and Private Equity) and “Forum Inovação Brasil 2008” (Brazilian Innovation Forum). He led an innovation study in Brazil (“Brasil que Inova) in partnership with Exame, Brazil’s most important business magazine,  and he is finalizing the book “101 Inovações Brasileiras” (101 Brazilian Innovations).  Gustavo holds a B.Sc in Aeronautical Infra-structure Engineering from ITA and an MBA from The Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania). He is a Portuguese native speaker and is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
