Geoffrey Tuff

Geoff Tuff is a Partner of Monitor Group and a leader of the Monitor Innovation practice. Since first joining Monitor in 1992, Geoff has worked in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer products, beverages, information services, telecommunications, metals, and both commodity and specialty chemicals.  He is currently an Account Manager for two of the firm’s top 10 clients.

His project work has included developing product launch strategies in the pharmaceutical (diabetes and depression), consumer products and chemicals industries; assessing and implementing local-market entry strategies for a leading global beverage provider; designing a new route structure for a distribution company which doubled the growth rate of that business; and creating a sales and targeting strategy for an innovative specialty plastics product which resulted in incremental growth of over 10% per year.

Geoff’s area of specialty has been in helping our clients embed Innovation, Marketing and Sales Excellence capabilities in their organizations.  The nature of this work, founded upon Monitor’s top line-growth intellectual property, spans the domains of product strategy development and execution, organizational structure, training and tools (e.g., enterprise software). Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in developing some of Monitor’s core methodologies related to driving top line growth for clients; on account of his work, thousands of innovators and marketing strategists around the world now have “Monitor inside” their day-to-day lives.

He received his B.A., with honors, in English literature and creative writing, from Dartmouth College.  He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was an honors student.
