Dr. Carolina Garcia Rizo
Carolina Garcia Rizo is a member of Monitor Innovation, a Monitor Group Company. Prior to joining Monitor, her experience includes an international strategy project developing new markets and distribution channels for an online gaming company in Shanghai, business development for a consumer products multinational, and a multicultural integration program for an European Aeronautic company. In the food industry, Carolina developed a marketing strategy for a European Food company and for a Spanish food ingredients company a strategy for leveraging its extraction technology capabilities into new growth opportunity areas. In addition, she has experience in bio informatics, having worked as a scientist from 2001 to 2004 at the Max-Planck Institute in Munich (Germany) and at the Medical School of UCSF.
Since joining Monitor, Carolina has worked in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Recent projects have included an analysis of drug delivery technologies in terms of their scientific and commercial, and assessing the strategic implications for the client in light of their product portfolio and pipeline.
In 1996 she received an MS in Chemistry from the University of Murcia in Spain, and in 2000 she received her PhD Summa Cum Laude in Atomic Physics at the Spanish National Laboratory. She was awarded a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Berkeley. She graduated in 2007 from MIT, where she got her MBA. She is fluent in Spanish, German, and English, and proficient in Italian and French.
