Dr. Anthony Hamer
Tony Hamer is a senior member of Monitor Innovation For the past four years prior to joining Monitor he was affiliated with high-level management consulting in Business, Technology and Innovation with Arthur D. Little. Before joining Arthur D. Little in 1998, he served with Union Carbide, Exxon Chemicals, and at Olin Corporation for 10 years, where he led their $80+ million revenue Global Performance Urethanes Business. Subsequent to that he was senior vice president with responsibility for investing in and commercializing new products and processes for the natural gas industry at the Gas Research Institute in Chicago, Illinois.
Tony specializes in the strategic and operational management of business, innovation, technology, and R&D and the practical aspects of creating, developing, and extracting value from tangible and intangible assets of the enterprise. Typical cases have included the development of strategic business plans, development and implementation of product creation processes, creation and implementation of knowledge management and innovation processes, commercialization of IP, and M&A targeting and integration.
Tony has served on the board for Asahi-Olin in Japan, The Industrial Center, the American Gas Cooling Center (US) and the Gas Research Institute. Tony holds a B.Sc. in chemistry and mathematics, a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from Purdue University and an Executive MBA from the University of Virginia.
